web design

This is why you need a properly designed website

Here are some things to consider if you are thinking about a new website or a redesign for an existing website:

What is unique about your business and why would someone choose your business? *Hint, every business has something unique about it.

If you have an existing website, does it convey your answer to the question above?

Who is your ideal customer? Think of your best clients you currently have. What do they have in common. If your business is brand new, who do you think your ideal customer would be?

What is your customer’s (or readers) pain point? Is there a problem they are seeking to solve?

For an existing website, look at your site on a mobile phone, a tablet, a desktop, and a laptop. How fast does the site load? If it loads slowly, your site is not optimized properly and you may lose people before they actually get to see what you have to offer. Are there big gaps of space between sections? Can you read the information? Does any of the copy run off the page or over an image and make it illegible? We’re looking for clean, clear, professional, and attractive with a prominent call to action.

Make sure you website has an SSL certificate. You will know by looking in the browser that has your web address. There should be a lock icon before the URL.  Have you ever been on a website where it has “site not secure”? That is definitely a deterrent.

We want your website to catch the eye, look current, and professional. The use of your branding, color, carefully selected images, and choice of fonts, etc are all part of a cohesive message about who you are and what you do.

Triple check your copy and make sure you don’t have any typos or awkward sentence structure. Keep your message on point.

Are you ready to launch your website into the digital age?
