branding
Branding represents the personality of your business. It creates a professional appearance and gives people an overall feel for your business.
Everything that is printed or posted with your business name gives customers an impression. A logo, colors, fonts, images, and style convey a message about who you are as a business.
Let’s pretend that the people in the photo (stock photo) above work together in a small business. What are your impressions? The business may have a friendly and casual approach. Perhaps, they offer a creative service or product. Their brand should reflect those qualities.
Here are a few things to consider about branding:
- A business logo. A logo is a symbol or graphic image that is representative of your business.
- Graphic standards which includes specific colors, fonts, and style.
- Branding creates a cohesive professional style that is used across all media
If you want to be seen as legitimate and professional, you must utilize branding in your business. Get a logo. It doesn’t have to be elaborate. As a matter of fact, simple is better. Make sure it can be used on it’s own in color and black and white. You will want to use this on your email signature, letterhead, correspondence, invoices etc. You will also use this on your website and any social media. Make sure you use the same fonts and colors. We cannot stress how important this is. Make sure your branding really represents your business. Take your time choosing the right designer and make sure they offer you a few designs to choose from. Don’t choose a person randomly. They should ask questions and genuinly want to know about your business. It’s too easy these days to get a cheap logo that really doesn’t fit your company or business. Make sure they give you everything you will need in order to use all of the elements of your branding. This will include the logo in various sizes and file formats, the specific pms colors you and your designer have chosen. Be specific. Do you want templates for letterhead, invoices, email, etc or will you design those in-house? We hope you found this helpful. Please contact us if we can help.
